July 31st Cancer Update

Well, Glenn went in for his appointment this morning.  His CEA went up to 152 from 102.  The doctor is a substitute for Dr. Smith, so he went ahead with the treatment as scheduled.  They don't know what to make of it bouncing around like it is.

These last few day Glenn has been in a lot of pain.  Apparently the effects of the Chemo last about 14 days and the symptoms come back that last week.  He was told that is is common.  This new Dr. suggested that they give him a lower does for three weeks in a row and then let him rest for 1 week.  He made a note of it and Glenn will talk to Dr. Smith about it at the next visit...three weeks for now.  He hasn't had a CT scan since March, so they will do one before his next visit.

So I guest the best thing that I can say is that he is in "Status Quo".  He knows he is in for a rough week starting on Friday.  Hopefully we can go to the temple tomorrow and take Clark with us.  We appreciate all you your prays and faith.  We hold out hope that he can beat this thing!

Other than that, everything is going fine.

The kids have gone home so mostly it is quiet around here.  Yesterday was the exception.  Glenn's niece Samantha and her four kids came for a visit.  While she was here her bother Jason and his wife Kimberly came with four of their kids.  It was wonderful to see them ever for such a short time.  While they were here Kimberly (our daughter) was in our kitchen cooking a wonderful lasagna dinner to celebrate her baby Dillon's first birthday! What hecticness!

This morning Kimberly came back and had her kids' pictures taken professionally by her friend.  I can hardly wait to see them!

Argh! I wish those numbers would go where they should be.

Wish it weren't so rough.
