We met with the Radiology Oncologist, Dr Koh, on Wednesday. He is a mover and a shaker! Dr. Koh ordered a CT/scan to mark (tattoo) the exact spot where the Lazar beams will go. It had not been scheduled. He wanted to get it done while he was in town since he was leaving to go to DC to give a lecture. He also wanted to have it while we were there for our convenience, as well. Most of the office staff was reluctant to get moving on it, he said, "we can do it now"! Bless his heart, he made it happen! We like him a lot!
Thursday was a full day of blood draw, EKG, Port teach, and PET/CT scan. Glenn had to fast until that was over, until 3:30. For Latter-day Saints that is something we do every month, so he did just fine. He still feels great and has his usual amount of energy, I on the other hand am exhausted.
Hopefully by Monday Dr. Koe will call with the PET/CT scan results. We are hoping and expecting that we will get the same information the CT scan and the Ultra Sound have already given, that the tumor is contained and that it hasn't spread to any other parts of the body. That is what we have all been praying for.
Those of you who have gone through this, know just exactly what we are talking about. You know what all these tests are and how hard it is to wait and wait and wait.
He will have the port put in on Monday the 5th and then he will start treatment on Monday 12th. By that date it will have been 5 weeks from time we first heard that he had cancer, and 6 months from the first time he went to the Doctor with concerns about the pains in his stomach! WOW! Let's get this thing going!

Time is a funny thing! It's weird how Baylee was born 15 months ago, it seems like yesterday. However, it seems like FOREVER ago that we found about about dad's cancer and we're still in the process of figuring out the treatment! I guess I'm not too thrilled about the treatment getting started though, I'm ready for him to be better, but not for the process. Gird your loins. That's what I keep telling myself.
