On Monday Glenn had an appointment with Dr. Smith to get the results of his CT scan and blood work. The CT scan shows no new spots, the abdomen is clear and there is just a tiny spot left in the pleurae sack under his lung. It also showed that his hip bones are healing where they found cancer last November. A very good scan.
However the CEA marker in the blood is the highest it has ever been. That means there may be microscopic decease lurking somewhere waiting to find a place to grow. Dr Smith added a third chemo to his treatment, which is a little more harsh on his system than the other two. We hope that it will knock it down.
Last November he could hardly walk, the pain in his hip was so bad, he is doing much better now after the first three treatments. At least he was doing better until his treatment on Monday. Now he is feeling the side effects and doesn't feel very well at all. But he should improve by Sunday. Now we are just waiting for the CEA marker to go down.
We appreciate you thoughts and prayers.
