When Glenn started this past round of treatment back in April, his blood test showed a protein marker which indicated a cancer level. The marker started at 9.6 and steadily went down to 6.6. Three weeks ago it was back to 8.0 and yesterday it was up to 8.6.
The Dr. is not really concerned but is aggressive. Three weeks ago Glenn was just recovering from the flu and the Dr. thought that might be the reason for the increase. However she said that if it was up again this time she would up the dosage of Chemo. His dose had been lowered because of the severity of the side effects, which were extremely sore and sensitive hands and feet. When she lowered the dose his side effects were minimal.
Dr. Smith increased his Chemo dose yesterday and in three weeks he will go in for another CT scan. He had a CT scan the first week in July and the cancer mass was breaking up. This CT scan will give them a chance for another look. At the present time he his taking his Chemo in pill form which is fairly convenient. Dr. Smith set forth a Plan A and a Plan B depending on the results after the next three weeks on the increased dose and the results of the CT scan.
Glenn's Dr. is just delightful! She told Glenn she was not too concerned about this marker and that he should be more concerned with the BYU Football Team than the cancer! Ha, Ha, Ha!

You both are in my thoughts and prayers continually. Love you both and in awe of your strength. Thank you for keeping us updated. It is rare that one prays for low marks on a test. But that is what I will do.

Oh the ups and downs of life sure can test one's strength, faith, etc. But you and Glenn shine through it all. Your ability to keep bouncing back is a testimony of a beautiful love that exists between you. At times he lifts you and other times you lift him and when you both are needing help, then you will find Him who loves you both and is always near you. I so admire you both. Hugs.

I'm glad the Dr is not concerned. That is reassuring. But I wish you could be done with this already.
