Glenn had radiation this morning and then met with Dr Kim. She had met him before his treatments started, and hasn't seen him since. She is a very enthusiastic Doctor, very likable.
When she entered the room, she said she thought that she was in the wrong place, because Glenn looks so good! It is true, he does look good. She expected him to look much worse for the amount of radiation and chemo that he has had, they are not small doses! She also expected him to be having more side effects. He should be more tired, more nauseated, burns on his stomach, more burning with eating, more pain and more run down. Well he isn't!
She kept expressing how surprised and pleased she was at how well he is doing! By nature Glenn is a very high energy and healthy person. She also said what Dr. Shankaran has said about Glenn's blood numbers; "he is doing better than the average healthy man you would take off the street." Music to our ears!
Because he has no more trouble swallowing they know the radiation is working. Therefore, since they have been radiating an area much larger than the tumor, they are going to give the tumor the "one-two" punch. Which means that they will narrow the beam to pin point just the tumor, using the same amount of strength they were using for the larger area. They radiate the larger area because they are trying to get any microscopic cancer cells that might be lurking near the tumor.
This change in treatment should help lesson the side effects he has been having. So although he could be feeling worse by the end of treatment, hopefully he will be feeling better, not worse.
By the way, treatments will end two weeks from today! Wahoo!

We feel this good report is a confirmation of many things; answers to faith and prayers, priesthood blessings, the word of wisdom, his good health in general.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. I always anxiously await your daily reports. I just got back from Costco. They had Silverbow Honey from Moses Lake. I wanted to do a "Happy Dance" but refrained as others don't know me and might lock me up! Love Ya...hope I made you smile! Sharon

Yeah congrats!! I have been amazed too at the pictures of Glenn. He looks so great and I can't believe all the stuff is doing during all this! Uncle Glenn you are an inspiration!!
