Good News Today!

Glenn is actually feeling a change in the tumor! One of his indicators before diagnosis was that he was having a hard time swallowing. Every time he would eat something today, he would say, "I can swallow without water, it is just normal, it doesn't get stuck''. That is a good sign that the treatments are working. All the staff here is very pleased. He is campaigning to reduce the treatment time to 5 weeks instead of 6 week. They, of course will hear none of it!

It has been a long day, not quite as long as last Monday. We didn't have to get up so early, but we finished treatment later in the evening.

Today marks 1/5 of the way through treatments. His surgery is the first part of next year. Hopefully he won't have to have chemo after that.

His energy is still high after a great week end at home. He still has his great positive attitude.

This afternoon our dear friend Carolyn Nielson came to visit us at the SCCA Center, since she was in Seattle getting an insulin device installed. I haven't seen her for a year. We always have so much to talk about and we didn't even get to scratch the surface, Her husband passed away in 2007 from cancer. We just couldn't believe that as much as we have in common, that both of our husbands have had cancer. Ken's was Leukemia and Lymphoma. We miss him.

That is good to hear. It was so hard to see him struggle to swallow. How much we take for granted. I love the daily updates, even though I don't always comment, I always read... I'll try to do better!
